Additional Fees

Cancellation Within 24 Hoursof Appointment

$50

Explanation: If you need to cancel, please notify us as soon as possible. Last-minute cancellations disrupt our schedule. We often have a wait list once we have finalized our schedule, so when we are given adequate advanced notice, we are often able to fill cancelled appointment times by scheduling in other farms. Rescheduling is unlikely due to our limited travel window between farms. If you can’t be there during shearing, that’s fine—we often work without the owner present.

Catching Fee

$25 per 10 minutes (first 10 minutes free)

We’re happy to help with brief, situational handling, such as:

  • An animal getting loose during shearing

  • Assisting clients with physical limitations (please let us know ahead of time so we can plan accordingly

This fee is meant for quick help when needed, and is not a substitute for having animals caught ahead of time. Please have animals ready before we arrive so we can get started right away.

Intact Ram (Uncastrated Male) Older Than 1 Year

$5 per animal

Matted Sheep Tail Shearing

$5 per animal

Explanation: Undocked tails can accumulate waste and become matted, requiring careful, time-consuming shearing to avoid cutting the skin

Sheep Specialty / Large Breed

$5 per animal

Explanation: Certain sheep breeds (e.g., Babydoll, Suffolk, Merino, Lincoln, Rambouillet, Blacknose Valais, Corriedale) are more labor-intensive to shear due to larger size, extra skin folds, or excess wool.

Multiple Station Set Up

If we need to move our shearing equipment to a different location on your property, a $15 fee will be added for each move to cover setup and takedown time.

Overgrown Fleece

$10 per animal per extra year of growth (except for rescue situations)

Camelid Specialty Cuts

$10 per animal

Most styles (simple bobbleheads, stovepipes, etc.) are included at our regular rate when done within normal shearing time.

Animals that need extra time for show-quality perfection (mullets, mohawks, detailed sculpting) will incur an additional styling fee per animal.
